Bengaluru Tech Summit - Heritage Restoration Showcase

ZenTara Studio, an incubated company of the International Institute for Art, Culture and Democracy (IIACD), played a key role in a heritage restoration project showcased at the 2023 Bengaluru Tech Summit.

IIACD undertook the digital restoration of ceiling paintings from the historic Virupaksha Temple in Hampi, and one of the highlighted works was the Girija Kalyana Panel from the Rangamandapa.

ZenTara Studio contributed by manually creating a detailed digital line drawing of the panel to aid in the understanding and accuracy of the restoration. Following extensive research into the characters, color palettes, and textures, the painting was digitally restored with great care and cultural sensitivity.

To bring the artwork to life, we animated the restored panel and narrated the story of Girija Kalyana through a compelling voiceover. The final animated video was proudly presented at the 2023 Bengaluru Tech Summit, celebrating the fusion of heritage, art, and digital technology.
